Huston was the 2nd child born to filmmaker John Huston (himself the son of actor Walter Huston) and former ballerina Enrica Soma. The family moved in 1953 from California into County Wicklow, Ireland. In the following year they moved to a country manor in County Galway. Huston lived on this estate throughout her childhood. It was a place where she spent a lot of time in the absence of her husband working on movie sets. Soma was moved to London with her three children following his departure in 1962.
